We're Dean and Savannah Gertie, owners of Iron Coast Fitness. After years of regularly attending a typical commercial gym, we tried every program and fad diet in the book and lacked the results we wanted. In 2019, after purchasing a digital Crossfit training program and trying the workouts for 2 weeks we fell in love with the methodology and realized we needed to find a gym to call home. After bouncing around gyms for a few years we landed at Brutal Republic (Now Iron Coast Fitness) and instantly felt a connection to the community. When the opportunity presented itself to take ownership of the gym, we jumped at the chance. We are extremely passionate about building a strong community of like-minded people all striving to better themselves through fitness.
Growing up as a multi sport athlete Brent has always had a passion for being active and moving his body. He found functional fitness in 2013 and dove in head first. He has been a member of the community for a decade, and part of the gym’s staff as a coach for over 4 years. His passion lies in writing workouts and helping other improve their movement quality. He has been the brain behind the daily workouts since 2020 and loves the challenge of coming up with new workouts week in and week out for our community!
Lilly is dedicated with a passion for fitness and a commitment to helping individuals reach their potential. She discovered her love for fitness at an early age and began her journey with various sports and physical activities which eventually led her to begin CrossFit in 2015. Lilly believes in a holistic approach to fitness, emphasizing the importance of nutrition, mental resilience, and functional strength. Over the years, she has not only transformed her own physique but has tried to also inspire others to do the same.
Cami became a personal trainer over 10 years ago. Her journey in fitness began slowly and eventually graduated through leisure exercise, becoming a trainer, to bodybuilding, power-lifting, and eventually CrossFit. With multiple certifications and working with thousands of clients she found her personal "home" in the CrossFit community. She began coaching classes for Iron Coast in 2020 and has been an integral part of the team ever since. She thrives teaching new comers and fine tuning seasoned vets of the fitness space, while maintaining a hunger for furthering her knowledge and progressing her own abilities.
Diana has competed in different sports for most of her life, but when she discovered CrossFit in 2014 that's when she fell in love with functional fitness. She loves the amazing community and the idea of pushing your body and mind to the limit everyday. With so many years of enjoyable growth, Diana wanted to start helping others with their fitness journey. She became a coach in 2020, and has loved sharing her passion and passing on her knowledge to the members since.
Mikey is a passionate and knowledgeable coach who joined the Iron Coast team in 2021. Previously a runner and power-lifter his journey into CrossFit began after watching one of the Fittest on Earth documentaries. Known for his positivity and commitment to the members, Mikey has made an impact through his relentless research and dedication to functional fitness. With a solid understanding of all movement patterns and a drive to learn, he continues to push individuals of all levels.
With over 10 years of experience doing gymnastics and now coaching full-time, David has developed a deep passion for helping others achieve their goals. In addition, he has spent 4 years competing nationally in CrossFit and weightlifting and is currently a member of the Orlando Aces of the Florida Grid League. David holds certifications in both USAW L-1 and CF L-1, which has helped him develop a strong foundation in coaching technique and training methodologies.
Travis found CrossFit in 2012 after watching a Clean and Jerk speed ladder. After finding his nearest gym he started his first steps into the world of CrossFit. After 6 months of learning how to move his body, his coaches started to notice Travis give a cue here or a tip there to the athletes next to him. Encouraged to further develop his learning and coaches sight, he took his Level 1 and was coaching entry classes into CrossFit by the end of the year. Once set on this path, Travis found joy and peace in helping others achieve the things that he did. Now coaching for over a decade and learning every day, he has gone through his Level 2, Conjugate Training, and Olympic Lift seminars.
